A Healthy Diet

Just as a good mix of fruits, whole grains, and vegetables contribute to a healthy diet, so does a healthy mix of different types of credit contribute to a healthy credit score. A proper combination of credit card accounts, retail store accounts, automobile and other installment loans, and mortgage loans can help show that you can handle different types of credit. This does not mean, however, that you should open new credit accounts just to improve the mix of your credit.
