Credit History

In determining your credit history for credit score purposes, the age of your oldest account as well as the age of all your accounts are both considered. They also look at the age of specific accounts and how long it may have been since those accounts were active.

Fair Isaac recommends that people only recently establishing credit should be cognizant of the fact that opening a large number of new accounts in a short period of time will lower the average age of your accounts, which can lower your credit score.
