  1. You can create techniques in advance for managing the provocation the next time you are faced with it. This helps to stop the full escalation of anger.

  2. You learn how to avoid certain situations that trigger anger, and in most cases you can prevent anger thoughts.

  3. When you know what provokes you, you can practice management skills that will build up your tolerance for anger situations.

  4. If you know what triggers your anger, you can stop the gun from going off.
