Know Your Own Needs

It is important for all of us to experience ourselves in a positive way, to feel good and to feel productive. We like to feel good about who we are. When we feel good, we act differently than we do when we are angry or feel unvalued. The cultivation of liking yourself is necessary for our well-being, our relationships and our job performance. Self-esteem declines when we do not communicate well, when we lack friends, when we don’t feel accomplished or when we don’t act on having our needs satisfied.

Anger can prevent you from maintaining a good, healthy level of high self-esteem. People feel best when the people around them validate their worth. When others support our self-esteem, we are more trusting, open and friendly.
