Command Prompt sessions (as well 16-bit programs) don’t know about the Clipboard, so they don’t support the standard cut, copy, and paste techniques. However, there are methods you can use to share data between the Command Prompt (or a 16-bit program) and Windows applications. I spell them out in the next few sections.

Copying Text from the Command Prompt

The best way to copy text from the Command Prompt or a 16-bit program is to highlight the text you want and then copy it. The following procedure takes you through the required steps:
