Using Other Than Black Backgrounds for T... > Create a Title Over a Colored Backgr... - Pg. 259

Adding Digital Tricks to iMovie's Bag Create a Title Over a Colored Background or an Image 1. 259 Use an image editing application to create a 640 × 480 image filled with the color you want as a background. You can use any image that you create as a background. For example, you can create a gradient image as a background, or you can use a photo. Save the image as a JPEG file. Move into your iMovie project. Choose File, Import File. In the resulting dialog, move to the image that you saved in Step 2, select it, and click Import. The image will be placed on the Shelf and will be selected (so it will appear in the Monitor). Drag the background image from the Shelf to the Clip Viewer and place it where you want the title to appear. Select the background image clip that you just placed in the movie. Open the Title tools and use them to create a title for the background clip (see Figure 13.6). (See Chapter 4 to learn how to create titles.) Make sure that the Over Black checkbox is not checked or the title will be placed over a black background instead. TIP 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
