Building a Slideshow the iMovie Way > Adding Images to the iMovie Slideshow - Pg. 272

Building Digital Lifestyle Slideshows TIP 272 It is usually a good idea to make a copy of images that you are going to crop in iPhoto and then crop the copies. This assumes that you might want to make other changes to the same image. If you don't, you don't have to make a copy because you can always retrieve the original in iPhoto. Of course, if you resize the photos in an image editing application outside of iPhoto, such as Photoshop, you work on copies automatically (because you export them from iPhoto first). Such an application can also enable you to do batch editing, which can be much faster and less work. To make importing your images easier, create a folder for your slideshow project and place the images that you will be using in the iMovie slideshow in this folder.
