Viewing a Graphic or PDF File

So many graphics applications, so many file types. The Preview application in Mac OS X helps you view graphics files in a variety of formats, including TIFF, JPEG, PICT, Photoshop (PSD), Graphics Interchange Format (GIF), MacPaint, Silicon Graphics, Targa, BMP (bitmap), and more. In addition, the Preview application enables you to view Adobe PDF (Portable Document Format) documents. PDF has become a standard format for documents that include text and graphics. In fact, many downloadable electronic books (ebooks) use the PDF format. Follow these steps to open a graphic or PDF file in Preview:
