Using Aliases

In Mac lingo, an alias is a shortcut link to a file or folder that you can double-click to open the file or folder. By creating and moving aliases to different folders (within your Home folder), you can set up numerous ways to access your files and folders.

NOTE

For fastest access to a file or folder, create an alias for it and drag it from the Finder window to the desktop. Then you can use the alias to access the file or folder directly from the desktop.
