Switching to an Application Using the Dock

After you start an application or utility, a small black triangle appears below its icon on the Dock. You can use such Dock icons to switch between running applications and utilities. As you learned in Chapter 4, “Working with Folders and Files,” you can double-click an application or utility in a Finder window to start the application or utility. After you do so, an icon for the application or utility appears on the Dock so that you can switch back to the application or utility.
