Part I: Meet Panther > Working with Finder (and Other) Windows

Chapter 3. Working with Finder (and Other) Windows

As in prior Macintosh operating systems, windows on the Mac OS X Version 10.3 desktop hold applications, files (documents), and folders. You perform all your work within windows. The use of windows also provides an elegant solution to the need to work on multiple tasks at (nearly) the same time. You can move seamlessly between windows and tasks to handle your work in the order you prefer. This chapter builds your Mac OS X skills by leading you through a number of window management tasks. In this chapter, you will learn to:

Identify the parts of the new Finder window.

Display another Finder window when needed.

Choose the window in which you want to work.

Navigate in a Finder window and change the view.

Move, resize, dock, or close a window.

Use Exposé to arrange windows with a single key press.
