Starting iMovie and Creating a Project

When you work with iPhoto, you create each movie as a project file and then export the project to a finished movie file. This gives you the opportunity to go back to the project and make additional changes when you don’t like how the movie turned out. So, to get started, launch iMovie and create a project file.

NOTE

Your Mac’s screen resolution must be set to 1024 x 768 or better to use iMovie. If it isn’t, iMovie will prompt you to change the resolution. Do so using the Displays pane of System Preferences, as described in Chapter 9, “Changing Essential System Preferences.”
