Considering System Requirements When Upgrading

If you’re installing Mac OS X on a system that already uses an older Mac operating system, you need to verify that your system can handle the upgrade before you begin the installation process. You can install Mac OS X Version 10.3 on the following systems: Power Mac G4, Power Mac G3 (Blue and White), PowerBook G4, PowerBook G3 with built-in USB, iMac, eMac, and iBook. In addition, the system should have 128MB or more of system memory and must use an Apple-supplied video card or built-in display. Finally, the system will need at least 2GB of free hard disk space to handle the standard upgrade.
