Chapter 12. Corresponding with Mail > Reading and Responding to a Message

Reading and Responding to a Message

Any time you need to read your messages, you can display the list of messages in your In box in the main Viewer window in Mail. By default, that window will list the messages in chronological order, with the most recently composed message appearing at the bottom of the list. You can see who sent the message and its subject at a glance. After you read a message, you can decide how to respond to it, such as replying to the sender.

NOTE

Even though you can read messages while your system is connected to the Internet, it’s not necessary. I prefer to disconnect after getting email and then reconnect to send any responses.
