As noted earlier, the Classic environment enables you to run an application designed for older Mac operating systems. To start a Classic application, you use the same method as you would to start an application designed for Mac OS X. Once you start a Classic application, the desktop changes a bit to include the Mac OS 9 menu bar. You can then use that menu bar to work in the application, just as you would have in Mac OS 9. The following example illustrates how this works with the SimpleText application, which appears on your system as part of the support system for the Classic environment.
