Chapter 6.  Using the Doc and Applicatio... > Starting an Application from the Doc...

Starting an Application from the Dock

The icons to the left of the vertical dividing line on the Dock represent applications, utilities, and key features of Mac OS X Version 10.2. The Dock icons provide easy access for starting a program or utility; click on a Dock icon once to launch the associated program or utility. You can start as many applications or utilities as the amount of memory in your Mac allows. The following steps illustrate an example of using the Dock to start applications.

NOTE

You also can customize the Dock to include icons for other programs, as described in Chapter 9, “Setting up the Desktop.”
