Chapter 9.  Setting Up the Desktop  > Choosing a Desktop Picture

Choosing a Desktop Picture

Mac OS X Version 10.2 enables you to use a graphic file in one of a variety of formats (such as .gif and .jpg images) as a new desktop picture. You can jazz up your desktop with a downloaded image, a shot from your digital camera, or an original digital drawing that you’ve created.

NOTE

You can download graphics files from any number of locations on the Web. Start with http://www.macaddict. com/artgallery/, then click on the Desktop Pictures link. Just be sure that you observe the fair use provision of copyright law and only use downloaded images for personal use.
