Building and Playing an MP3 Playlist

Most computers have a single CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, meaning you can play the contents of one audio CD at a time. When you’ve converted (or downloaded) and stored MP3 files on your Mac’s hard disk, you can mix and match songs from different sources as needed to develop your own playlist file. This gives you control over not only which songs play, but also how many songs play so that you don’t have to swap CDs every hour or so. Follow these steps to build and play your own playlist of favorite songs:
