Now that you’ve learned how to find the settings that you need in System Preferences, you can take a little time to familiarize yourself with what’s available. This section reviews some of the more general panes in System Preferences. (Other, more specific preference panes, such as Internet settings, are covered in the chapters where they apply.) Once you’ve read this section, you can keep it in mind to use as a reference.
NOTE
The descriptions in this section assume that you’ve unlocked preference panes as needed to change settings.
