Click Loop Browser to see the available music clips.

INTRODUCTION

GarageBand is pure fun—and pure genius. With this snazzy music-mixing program, you can create your own music, from pop ditties to atmospheric riffs. GarageBand compositions can be entirely synthesized, or you can record your own instruments. Use your tuneful creations to back up your latest movies and DVDs, or share your genius with the world on sites like iCompositions.com.

TIP

Froot Loops

Don't think you're stuck with just the loops that ship with GarageBand. Try typing GarageBand loops into Google's search field (www.google.com) and you'll find more downloadable loops than you can shake a mouse at.

Drag loops from the Loop Browser and drop them into the Timeline.

Drag each loop to the measure where you want it and stretch its top corner edge to loop it (play it repeatedly).

Drag the playhead to the beginning of the song and click Play to preview the song.

Click Mute to turn off a track so you can listen to the song without hearing that track.
