About the Contributors

Elaine Kreston has a natural affinity for helping others solve computer problems. This talent was discovered while procrastinating from her real job, that of a professional cellist.

Mark Edward Soper has been a PC user for 18 years and has been a computer trainer and technical writer since 1988. Author of more than 150 magazine articles and several books, including The Complete Idiot's Guide to High-Speed Internet Connections and TechTV's Upgrading Your PC, he also has written frequently about Windows from version 3.1 to Windows XP. He lives in Evansville, Indiana, where he enjoys researching the history of transportation.

James Michael Stewart has been writing about Microsoft, the Internet, and certification for nearly 7 years. Michael has contributed to more than 75 books in this area. His technical interests include IT certification, Windows, security, and the Internet. Michael also is an instructor at Networld+Interop. He spends his spare time learning to do everything, one hobby at a time.

Will Schmied (BSET, MCSE 2000, MCSA, CWNA, Server+, Network+, A+) is a freelance consultant and technical writer. Will has contributed works to several of the Internet's largest IT Web sites, including MCPMag.com, TCPMag.com, TechRepublic.com, CertCities.com, Cramsession.com, ISAServer.org, and MSExchange.org. Will has also worked on books for several publishers, including Que, Osborne/McGraw-Hill, and Syngress, in addition to writing several print magazine articles.

Will earned a bachelor's degree in engineering technology from Old Dominion University. He currently resides in Newport News, Virginia, with his wife Allison, their children Christopher, Austin, Andrea, and Hannah, and their pets Peanut and Squeaky. When he is not busy playing with the latest in technologies, you can usually find Will trying to improve his bowling average or logging some serious time on Dungeon Siege.
