Chapter 15. Working with Photos and Movies > Adding Media to an iMovie

Adding Media to an iMovie

Adding preexisting media to an iMovie project is obviously easier than recording it from scratch. In fact, if you use iTunes and iPhoto () to store your images and audio, you have instant access to those files along with sound effects from Skywalker Sound (). You can add media to an iMovie through iTunes or iPhoto, by importing, or by dragging the files from a folder. When you bring an existing multimedia file into a project, iMovie saves a copy of the file inside the Media folder. In addition, if the file attributes don't match the movie, iMovie reformats the file.

Add Media to an iMovie Using iPhoto or iTunes

Open an iMovie project.

Click the Photos or Audio tabs.

Drag the image files or audio files from the Audio or Photo Clips window to the Timeline.

Click the File menu, and then click Save Project.
