Chapter 13. Tracking and Synchronizing I... > Setting Up .Mac Synchronization

Setting Up .Mac Synchronization

If you've setup a .Mac account, then you'll want to keep your off-site information up-to-date. You'll accomplish this by using the iSync application, and using the setup options () to determine exactly what you want updated. The iSync setup lets you decide exactly what you want updated, and even lets your Macintosh perform automatic updates.

Set Up .Mac Synchronization

Open the Applications folder, and then double-click the iSync icon.

Click the .Mac button.

IMPORTANT If you don't see the .Mac button, you'll need to set up your account.

Select or clear the Turn On .Mac Synchronization or the Automatically Synchronize Ever Hour check boxes.

Select or clear the Safari Bookmarks, Address Book Contacts, or iCal Calendars And To Do Items check boxes.

Shows all computers registered for the synchronization.

Click Unregister Selected Computer to remove the computer from the synchronization process.

Click the Sync Now button to synchronize the .Mac account, and any additional devices.

A Data Change Alert window may appear asking you to:

  • Cancel

  • Proceed

Quit iSync.
