Task 8: Moving Text

Select the text you want to move.

Click Edit, and then click the Cut command. Windows deletes the data from the document and places it in the Clipboard.

Click in the document where you want to place the text.

INTRODUCTION

Just as you can copy text, you can move text from one location in a document to another location in the same document. You can also move text from one document to another. Moving text is similar to copying text, except that when you move something it is deleted from its original location.


TIP

Move to Another Application

To move cut or copied data from WordPad to another application, simply switch to the desired application, click the spot where you want the data to be placed, open the Edit menu, and select Paste.


Click Edit and then select the Paste command.

The text is pasted into the new location.
