Task 7: Rearranging the Classic Start Menu

In the Customize Classic Start Menu dialog box, click the Advanced button. (Refer to Task 4 if you need help reaching this dialog box.)

Windows Explorer opens. Expand the folder listing in the left pane until you see the folder where you want to place a program (in this case, the Personal folder).

In the right-hand pane, open the folder that contains the program you want to move (in this example, Adobe Photoshop).

INTRODUCTION

After you set up folders, you can organize your Start menu, putting the program icons in the folder and order you want.

TIP

Advanced Customization Options

The Customize Classic Start Menu dialog box offers several advanced customization options. In the Advanced Start menu options area, you can specify that various features, such as Favorites, be displayed in the Start menu. You can also choose to expand various folders within the menu, such as Control Panel, My Documents, and more.

Drag the program icon from the right pane to the folder in the left pane.

The program is moved to the folder.

Click the Close button to close Windows Explorer.
