Task 1: Starting Internet Explorer

Click Start.

Click Internet.

Enter your user name and password (some information might have been completed for you), and then click the Connect button.

Windows connects to your ISP (Internet service provider). The Internet Explorer window appears, and you see your start page, usually the MSN home page.

INTRODUCTION

After you've set up your Internet connection, you can start Internet Explorer. Before you start browsing the Web, take a look at the different tools within the Internet Explorer window.

Trouble Connecting?

If you have problems connecting—the line is busy, for example—try again. If you continue to have problems, check with your ISP.

You can use any of the toolbar buttons to navigate from page to page.

When you are done working in Internet Explorer, click its Close button to close the program.
