Chapter 15. Internet Information Services > Creating Your Web Site Content

Creating Your Web Site Content

Once you've installed the IIS services you want to use, you can set up a Web site. Before starting that process, let's review a few basics that you should know about before using any Web server.

Your IIS server should be reachable by either clients on your local network (a LAN or intranet), or from the Internet, or possibly both. In either case you will need to use a fixed IP address assigned by your own network administrator, so that other users can find your Web server by typing its name into their browser.
