Keyboard

The keyboard is one of those hardware devices that we all use every day and most of us never give a second thought to it. Either it works or it doesn't. Believe it or not, the keyboard does have some configurable options associated with it, although they are all done from within Windows itself. Using the Keyboard applet (see Figure 28.11), you can configure the following options for your keyboard from the Speed tab:

  • Repeat Delay— The amount of time that elapses before a character begins to repeat when you hold down a key.

  • Repeat Rate— The speed at which a character repeats when you hold down a key.

  • Cursor Blink Rate— The speed at which the cursor (or insertion point) will blink.
