Tuning Windows Performance with the System Applet

Once you discover how your system is performing, it’s time to consider ways to speed up your system if you’re not satisfied.

First of all, if your system has less than 128MB of RAM, your first move to increase performance should be to upgrade your system’s RAM to at least 128MB or more. Windows XP really, really likes to have lots of memory, and with today’s prices, you can add an additional 128MB for as little as $20. Memory modules come in 256MB and 512MB increments as well,
