Chapter 15. Creating a Windows XP Home N... > Install and Configure Backup Softwar...

Install and Configure Backup Software

Now that your network is up and running, it’s a good time to set up a backup system and create a full system backup. Get in the habit of backing up at regular intervals. I suggest backing up your entire system at least once a month. You should consider backing up the folders containing your documents even more often.

Note

Windows XP comes with a backup program, which you’ll find on the Windows XP installation CD-ROM. Instructions for installing and using it are in Chapter 26, “Managing the Hard Disk.” If you’re interested, you can buy better backup software, or it might be supplied with an add-on tape backup system.
