STOP! Before You Go Any Further, Read This Warning!

That got your attention, didn't it? Good.

The Registry is Windows' central nervous system, the repository of all the thousands of bits of information that define your system's hardware, software, settings, and preferences. Mucking around with the Windows Registry is very much like handling dynamite. You should never try either activity unless you've had proper training and taken the necessary precautions, and you should always be extremely careful.
