Customizing the MS-DOS Environment

In previous versions of Windows, you could configure the environment for all MS-DOS sessions by changing text in the MS-DOS startup files, CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT. Because real mode has been removed as a startup option from Windows Me, these configuration files now work differently.

To customize the MS-DOS environment under Windows Me, use one of the following two techniques:
