Managing Your Music Library

The Windows Media Player's Media Library is used to manage your music (and video) library. When you first click the Media Library button, the Media Player can search your system for all compatible digital music formats and organize them. The Media Player can play back MP3, WAV, AIFF, MIDI, Windows Media audio, AIFF, AU, and CD audio digital music files. You can also perform this search later through the Tools menu, or by pressing the F3 key.

Tip

When you search for content, you can ask the Media Library to include WAV and MIDI files found in system folders. I recommend that you don't include these items because they are used primarily for system events and lack entertainment value.
