Troubleshooting

The Case of the Missing Fonts

You've installed a number of TrueType fonts, but none of them are visible in the drop-down Fonts list in your Windows programs.

This problem occurs frequently in WordPad and Word. You can't use any TrueType fonts, even though you can see the fonts in the Fonts folder and use them in other applications. Usually, this problem is caused by having the default printer set to a device that doesn't support TrueType fonts, such as the Generic/Text Only printer. Both WordPad and Word check the capabilities of the default printer to ensure that they display the document the same onscreen as it will appear on paper. Solution? Install a driver for a printer that supports TrueType fonts.
