How Windows Protects System Files

Note

System File Protection replaces two awkward utilities introduced in Windows 98. The System File Checker (Sfc.exe) and Version Conflict Manager (Vcmui.exe) utilities are no longer available in Windows Me and are removed from your system when you upgrade.
