Troubleshooting

Restoring the Windows Me Boot Sector

You thought you followed all the right rules when setting up a dual-boot system, but now you can't start Windows Me. What do you do?

Your first job is to restore the capability to boot Windows. That's easy: Boot from the startup disk and, at the command prompt, type FDISK /MBR. This restores the master boot record and gives you the ability to boot Windows again. Now, reinstall your other operating system, being sure to follow the correct procedures.
