Troubleshooting

Printing Attributes

When I create a new image with the Microsoft Paint Brush tool, black dots sometimes trail the Brush tool as I move it across the canvas. Why?

This condition can occur when you have enabled the Black and White option in the Image menu's Attributes dialog box. To prevent this problem, create black-and-white images using the color image Attribute but using only black and white. When you create the new image with the Paint tool, the image is in color by default and the problem is averted. Alternatively, if you are working with a premade image, you can modify an existing black and white image by changing its Attribute to color and then editing the image with black-and-white as your color choices.
