Understanding the Audio Properties Dialog Box

You can find information on any audio file by right-clicking any WAV or MIDI file icon and selecting the Properties item from the shortcut menu. The Properties sheet for WAV and MIDI files displays key information on the size, length, and format of the file. The General sheet displays file size and type information. Click the Details tab for useful information such as the encoding scheme used to create a WAV file, as well as the duration of WAV and MIDI files (see Figure 19.7). You can sample both WAV and MIDI files from the Preview sheet of the Properties dialog box by clicking the Play button on the sheet. The clip plays directly from the sheet.
