Working with Program Shortcuts

In Chapter 6, "Managing Files with My Computer and Windows Explorer," you learned how to create shortcuts to your files and programs. This section introduces some more advanced techniques for working with shortcuts.

Starting Programs on StartUp

If you routinely keep some programs open because you use them throughout the day, you can have Windows 98 start these programs automatically when you start Windows. To do so, you simply create a shortcut for the program in a special folder called the StartUp folder. The StartUp folder is located in the Programs folder on the Start menu.
