Customizing the Windows Display

Today's video cards and monitors give you a wide choice of resolutions and color schemes. This section shows you how to adjust the display to your needs.

Using Desktop Themes

One of the coolest customization features of the Microsoft Windows 95 Plus Pack now comes as standard with Windows 98. You can use Desktop Themes to customize wallpaper, screen savers, mouse pointers (animated cursors), and many other elements of your Windows display. Some elements of the Desktop Themes include custom icons for My Computer, Network Neighborhood, and Recycle Bin; custom sounds for system functions; and even custom mouse pointers and color schemes.
