Using Web Folders

Windows 2000 computers running Internet Information Services (IIS) can share folders using another file sharing system called WebDAV (Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning), or Web Sharing. Because it's based on the standard HTTP protocol, you can access Web folders on your office PC from home or from another LAN halfway around the world.

You can access folders that have been shared with the Web Folder sharing features of Office 2000, FrontPage 2000, and Internet Explorer version 5 or higher. To use these shared folders, you don't even have to be using Windows 2000; you can access these three applications from Windows 9x and Windows NT 4 as well.
