Compatibility

As discussed earlier, compatibility with existing software systems and applications was a primary design goal for the NT and Windows 2000 programming groups. So let's now take a gander at how the client/server model as applied to NT allows for it to achieve compatibility with existing file systems, applications, and other operating systems from both the Microsoft and non-Microsoft camps.
