Providing Internet Connectivity

Of course, you'll want to have Internet access on your LAN, and it's far better to have one connection to the Net for the entire LAN than to let each user fend for himself or herself.

Windows 2000 has a built-in connection-sharing feature, and you can also use external devices to make the connection. This topic is important enough that it gets its own chapter. I recommend that you read Chapter 24, "Connecting Your LAN to the Internet," now as you plan your network.
