Using the Troubleshooters

The troubleshooters have been mentioned several times in this book, beginning in Chapter 1, "Introducing Windows 2000 Professional." Twelve hardware troubleshooters are supplied with Windows 2000 Professional. Although they won't always solve your problems, they'll at least walk you through a logical train of investigation for your malady, possibly leading you to a conclusion or avenue of thought you hadn't entertained previously.

Buttons for the troubleshooters pop up from time to time while you're using Windows, but if you don't see them, head directly for them from Help:
