Chapter 21. Instant Networking > Configuring the Network

Configuring the Network

When your wiring is in, you're ready to configure Windows 2000. With today's Plug and Play network cards and with all the needed software built in Windows 2000, configuring should be a snap.

If you're using a UTP network, as you install network cards and plug them into the cables running to your hub, you should see a green light come on at the hub for each computer you power up and connect. There might be an indicator on the back of the network card as well. These lights indicate that the network wiring is correct.
