Managing a System's Font Collection

Windows 2000's font management works the same way as Windows 9x's and NT4's does. In short, you can perform several simple techniques from the Control Panel's Fonts applet (or the \Windows\Fonts directory in Explorer) that let you do the following:

  • Add new fonts to the system

  • Remove unnecessary fonts, freeing disk space

  • View fonts onscreen or print out samples of each font you have

  • Display groups of fonts that are similar in style
