Reviewing Types of Fonts

Some fonts are designed to be compatible with special printing devices. These fonts use mathematical outline descriptions to create their character set. The resulting characters can be scaled and rotated. However, fonts designed for special printers are often difficult to display. To solve this problem, Adobe has created the Adobe Type Manager (ATM), a Windows application that converts Adobe PostScript printer fonts into displayable characters for use by Windows 95 applications.
