Customizing Windows with Property Sheets

Property sheets serve two crucial functions in Windows 95: They provide important information about objects such as files, folders, and Windows components, and they typically offer an interface where you can change information or adjust settings and preferences. Virtually every object you see on the Windows screen has an associated dialog box that enables you to inspect its properties—the dialog box in Figure 9.6, for example, enables you to adjust the amount of space you set aside to protect files from inadvertent deletion. To display a property sheet, right-click an icon or onscreen object and then choose Properties from the shortcut menu.
