Installing Applications in Windows 95

To install any Windows application, you usually use a setup program or install utility. Installing DOS-based applications is a different matter (and the subject of Chapter 26, "Installing, Running, and Uninstalling MS-DOS Applications"). These setup programs for Windows applications take care of all the details of installing the application. You don't have to concern yourself with creating directories, copying files, and integrating the application into Windows. That's good, because installing sophisticated applications can be complex. A manual installation of a major software suite is beyond the capabilities of the average user, and a dreaded chore for even the most advanced user.
