Installing Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2 (OSR2)

Microsoft Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2 (OSR2) incorporates all of the enhancements included in Service Pack 1, many patches and fixes that were released after Service Pack 1, and a long list of new features. (OEM is an acronym for Original Equipment Manufacturer, a term used in the computer industry to refer to companies that manufacture personal computers and peripherals.) As the name implies, OSR2 is sold only by OEMs when installed on new systems; it is not available for retail sale. You can, however, download some of the new components from Microsoft's web site and install them on your computer without having to obtain the OSR2 update. Other components, including the FAT32 file system update, are available only when you install Windows 95 OSR2.
